Blogger Trouble

Have had some technical difficulties getting into my blog! ...kept getting some crazy code that wouldn't let me in...I kept putting off trying to figure it out as I have been known to be "technically challenged" at times!  Today I woke with a determined spirit, and it paid off! Geez.... I have A LOT of catching up to do...and get this...I am determined to try and blog EVERYDAY this week we'll see how long this "spirit" lasts!..
I have been so busy, and have so many things I  would love to show you...I have a huge list of things to check off.  The number one thing on that list  is the AWESOME workshop I went to this summer in Seattle that my good friend Dawn Shields invited me to.  It was given by Jim Garner  and his wife Katarina.  Jim was just named  one of the top 10 photographers in the world!  How cool is that?    I can't even begin to tell you what an awesome time I had...and the things I learned!  My brain was fried when I returned.  Jim is so incredibly talented as a photographer and an artist.  His creativity blows me away!   I was also honored to meet some of Dawn's other friends, who immediately became my new friends.  My secret wish is to do a workshop with Jim each year with the very same group of photographers!  Unfortunately I don't have photos of everyone there, but here are a few I snapped of my "New Friends"!!  Thanks Dawn for giving me this incredible opportunity..  love ya!  :)

The site of the workshop...just the location was inspiring!!!..

We had our own private chef Stephan who took DJ and Dorinda out to check the crab traps for our dinner... I think the seals got to the traps first!

Beautiful Whitney who is one of Dawn's  assistant photographers...I love this girl!  I wish I could have been as talented as her when I was her age!
DJ Ellis and his sweet wife Jennifer from La Bella Vista Photography in Fresno Ca.  This guy is crazy talented!     I so want to do a workshop with him someday!   Watch for his name, because I guarantee you he will be a top  photographer one day soon!  He was so much fun...check out his blog and see the awesome shots he took from the workshop..  www.lbvphoto.blogspot.com

DJ being crazy!!!

Michael Muramoto from San Francisco...what a sweetheart...I can't wait to hang out with him again someday!

Jon Chan who has the BEST laugh!  He and I had a great time stealing a set of models  to get some exclusive shooting time!

Dawn. Whitney and Jon catching some rays and zzz's  on a break...I'm tellin ya, our brains were overloaded!
Dorinda, Jon Koch  and myself at the airport awaiting our flights.  If I remember correctly, we had to be up at 4 am to drive to the airport ...Ummm I wasn't very talkative!

Kathleen and Dylan

Kathleen and Dylan are the sweetest couple ever!   Every time they look at each other their faces light up!   They were married at a cute place on Dauphin Island called "Isle Dauphin"  This was the first time I photographed there, and the artistic possibilities are endless!     The weather was "all over the place" that day...starting out extremely hot and sunny, then cloudy, then stormy, as we were trying to get a few last minute shots in!    The clouds in that storm were crazy, and Kathleen and Dylan were trying so hard to hold out until the last possible moment before the heavens opened up.  As you can see by the last photo, we all ran for cover as the downpour began!  I love the motion of that shot!  Congratulations Kathleen and Dylan, I know you will have a wonderful life together!   Thank you for letting me part of your awesome day!

Misti and Jason beach wedding

When Misti called and asked if I could possibly photograph her wedding on Dauphin Island I was excited as I LOVE beach weddings!  Then she said it was going to be THAT afternoon!  Luckily I was able to rearrange my schedule and get there in time to photograph the vows of this adorable couple who came all the way from Ohio!   It was just the two of them and the preacher...talk about romantic !!!  I was honored to be able to capture this very special day for this great couple!   Blessings to you both!

Tracy and Tony

So much going on here this summer...by the looks of my last post, I better make some time for blogging!
Have to share some photos of a beautiful wedding I did at the Elizabethan Gardens in the  Outer Banks of North Carolina recently.    I met Tracy and Tony for the first time on their rehearsal night, and immediately adored them and their wonderful families.  It was so fun to see how much in love they were!  My favorite part of the wedding  day was watching Tony read a note  from Tracy right before the ceremony.   The emotion in his face was priceless,  everyone  around him was crying...including me!    It was such an awesome moment!   They had a phenomenal coordinator Marie Russell from Bordeaux Events who kept the day running smoothly, and made my job so much easier!   Wish I could have her with me at all my weddings!  Thanks Tracy and Tony for sharing your beautiful day with me..it was an honor.
Here are a few of my favorite images of the day.

Sara's Graduating!

Sara and her family drove in from Jacksonville last week-end to have me photograph their family, and her senior portraits.   We met in Pensacola, which was a challenge for me as I had never photographed there before,  and her parents were great at following me around while  I was looking for cool backgrounds.    She is really into art, so she was up for all the crazy ideas I had for her!   She is heading to graphic design school in the fall, and someday I'll be paying HER  to come up with cool ideas for me!

Sneak Peek at Wendy and Matt's Wedding

The  first time I met Wendy and Matt I could see the great connection they had with each other.  Totally in love, and ready to get on with their life together.   Their wedding was held at the beautiful Heron Lakes Country Club a few weeks ago, and I  just wanted to give a sneak peek at their special day.    Doesn't Wendy look stunning in her gown???

Fallon and Sean E session

I'm still here... life with 3 children can get crazy at times, and the past couple of months have been busy with travel, softball, soccer and lots of children activites!  I've got lots of great images to post to show you what I've been doing, and I have to start with a fun engagement sitting  I did a few weeks ago.
Beautiful Fallon was my first client I photographed after relocating to Mobile a year and a half ago.  She was instrumental at getting my name around town, and I am so grateful to her for that! I was ecstatic when she called to tell me she was engaged, and that they want me to photograph their wedding.   I took Sean and Fallon  out to do some engagement photos on a VERY windy day and  they took me exploring to parts of town I had never been.  It was so much fun!   I literally had goosebumps when I "saw the light"  bouncing off walls and reflecting  into their faces.  Then there was the coral wall that we stumbled upon that matched their clothing.   It couldn't have been more perfect.   They were both good sports about all the crazy ideas flowing through my mind.   I can't wait for the wedding!
